I purchased this for my mother, who needed excel. Having never used MS Office before (see my review for the ultimate edition of MS Office 2007, which is installed on another of my laptops) she has caught onto it quickly, but for my personal use I prefer using the 2003 version, or open office.org
However, if someone has never used, or gotten used to using, the 2003 edition, 2007 may be the place to start with an introduction to office programs.

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 is a little differnt from the earlier versions of Microsoft Office. It takes a little while to get used to the changes but it seems to be working well once you are adjusted. I would recommend this product to anyone.
