VERY DISAPPOINTED August 16, 2008 barry (Boston, MA United States) 10 out of 21 found this review helpful
I am a huge Clay Aiken fan and have loved him ever since American Idol. He sent shivers up and down my spine with his interpretations of BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER and DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME. He can take a song and put such emotion into it carressing every word and has a powerhouse range. Where did that Clay go? I had such high hopes for this cd but I felt all the songs somewhat heartless and he doesn't use his voice to advantage. Perfect example of this is the song SOMETHING ABOUT US. This is a beautiful love song and provided him with all he neded to show what he could do with a song. I find his interpretation to be very lacking and this song makes me sad and depressed and in no way seems a celebration of love. Some of his critics say that he is this generations Barry Manilow. Well, I loved Barry Manilow in the 70's and Clay doesn't compare. I must give him kudos for singing the music he wants but for me sadly, it feels like a 60 year old person is singing and there is no originality. He is using none of his God given talent. I love Clay but not the direction his music career is going in. This review is for the music and it is very subpar.
My Most Played CD August 9, 2008 CD (RI) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This CD is Clay's best. He has grown as an artist and with this CD he shows his versatility. Clay can sing just about any kind of music. It is the only CD I have ever owned where I love every single song on it. I cannot even begin to pick a favorite. I do love the title track right from the first words, "I took my first step..." Every single song has wonderful lyrics and he sings them all so beautifully. I feel that some of these songs are destined to become classics--"Something About Us" comes to mind as the perfect wedding song. I was glad to see that "Lover All Alone" was included since Clay wrote the lyrics to that song. That song is heartbreakingly beautiful as are "The Real Me" and "Sacrificial Love."
Go Get This CD August 7, 2008 ItsJustMyOpinion 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
On My Way Here is an awesome CD. In my family we all have a favorite song on the CD. However, my favorite song on the CD is actually from the Bonus Track from Walmart. So you might want to get one from Amazon and then go pick up one for the car or something from Walmart. There are upbeat songs, timeless love songs, and just makes ya feel good songs. I can not recommend this CD enough.

Once again in his latest album, On My Way Here, Clay Aiken has created a wonderful compilation of inspiring songs. The lyrics are moving, his voice is exceptional, and the music grabs your heart. A great second album that every Aiken fan will want in their music collection!
Clay Aiken's "On My Way Here" July 23, 2008 Verona S. Jarvis (Snowflake, Arizona) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
On My Way Here is a great CD. I was tickled to get a new CD by Clay Aiken, my fellow North Carolinian. I just love Clay's voice and think he should have won the American Idol show the year he was a contestant. I appreciate the ease with which I can order from Amazon.com and get my merchandise so quickly. Thank you.
